Located in the Atlantic Pyrenees, where the mountain peaks nod down towards the sea, the valleys of Baztan, Bertiz, Malerreka and Cinco Villas offer visitors the evergreen meadows, the changing colour of the beech forests with fern carpets, the sound of water running through the numerous streams and rivers and the mild climate that encourages the cultivation of kiwis and palm trees.

 

On entering these valleys, the visitor will meet people who know how to conserve their traditional culture, who are proud of their language, who continue even today to practice their oldest sports, who proudly exhibit their craftwork and who know how to enjoy (and include visitors) in a varied and rich gastronomic selection. 
This is an area where you can be at one with nature, where visitors can experience the real thing throughout the 830 km2 of this region, which is interlaced with paths and walkways. 
In the north of Navarre, very close to the sea and beaches and bordering with France, you can find these towns and villages; Urdax, Zugarramurdi, Baztan, Bertizarana,  Malerreka, Bortziriak...which are known as the “ Quiet Valleys ".
